City of Lake Elsinore issued the following announcement on Dec. 30.
The City of Lake Elsinore is proud to announce the official opening of The Anchor, our first crisis stabilization housing complex. Through funding from Project Homekey, The Anchor has been renovated and furnished to house up to 20 chronic homeless residents from our community for up to 90-days. Today, 10 individuals are moving into the new complex and over the next 90-days these residents will work with our non-profit partner and site manager, Social Work Action Group (SWAG), to begin building a path to a sustainable future.
We are excited to help those in need by giving a hand-up rather than a hand-out. This amazing project would not be possible without the help and support of our community members, many of whom went above and beyond to donate resources to help prepare these housing units for incoming residents. We want to give thanks to all who participated and worked to support their fellow community members. Today marks a bright future for our City and shows that together, Lake Elsinore is a city of community support and action!
