54 coaches at institutions in San Joaquin County earned $80,555 on average in 2022

San Joaquin County’s 54 coaches earned an average salary of $80,555 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the eighth highest average salary per county earned by coaches at California post-secondary schools during 2022.

San Joaquin County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, University of the Pacific stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $109,871.

Male coaches of men's teams received $84,185 on average in San Joaquin County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $52,550.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
