Representative Josh Harder, currently serving California’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared his views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Harder, who succeeded Jeff Denham in 2019, expressed concerns ranging from fuel prices to agricultural policy and Medicaid cuts.
On June 16, 2025, Rep. Harder voiced his frustration over rising fuel costs with a tweet stating “$70+ just to fill up your tank. Totally insane. Get rid of the gas tax!” This statement reflects his stance against the current gas tax as a means to alleviate financial burdens on consumers.
The following day, June 17, 2025, he acknowledged a meeting with agricultural stakeholders by tweeting “Appreciate the Seed Trade Association coming in last week to share ideas on investing in ag research and cutting red tape for our farmers. I agree!” This indicates his support for reducing bureaucratic hurdles and enhancing investment in agricultural research.
Later that same day, Rep. Harder addressed potential Medicaid cuts with a call to action: “Please share – important info on what Medicaid cuts would mean for our community. We need to fight back!” This highlights his concern about the impact of such cuts on local communities and emphasizes the need for advocacy against them.
Josh Harder was born in Turlock, California in 1986 and resides in Tracy. He graduated from Stanford University with a BA in 2008 and later earned another degree from Harvard University in 2014.
