Rep. Josh Harder, who represents California’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to address a series of issues affecting his constituents and the broader public.

On July 16, 2025, Harder questioned Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) regarding recent power disruptions: “When are we going to get a real reason from PG&E about these ‘unplanned’ outages? 61,000 families without power in the middle of summer is unacceptable.”

The following day, July 17, he highlighted concerns about the opioid crisis: “Fentanyl is killing our kids. We have to crack down on drug dealers and get this epidemic under control now.”

Later on July 17, Harder commented on energy policy changes related to renewable energy projects: “We need less process when it comes to permitting solar & wind, not more. This will raise already sky-high electricity prices and is a step in the wrong direction.”

Josh Harder has served as the representative for California’s 9th District since replacing Jeff Denham in 2019. He was born in Turlock, California in 1986 and currently resides in Tracy at age 36. Harder’s educational background includes degrees from Stanford University (BA, 2008) and Harvard University (2014).
