Rep. Josh Harder, who represents California’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on community events, environmental concerns, and local infrastructure improvements through a series of posts on August 6 and 7, 2025.
On August 6, Harder highlighted community engagement at a regional event: “Great food, fun activities, and tons of families showing their support at National Night Out events across the Valley last night! Thank you to our local law enforcement who show up every single day to keep our communities safe.” The National Night Out is an annual initiative aimed at strengthening relationships between residents and law enforcement.
Later that evening, Harder drew attention to an environmental issue affecting local waterways: “They may look small, but these sharp, slimy, stinking invaders are a huge threat to our waterways. We have to get them out of the Delta ASAP.” The reference likely pertains to invasive aquatic species threatening the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta ecosystem.
On August 7, Harder announced infrastructure improvements in downtown Stockton: “Downtown Stockton is finally getting the upgrades it deserves — new sidewalks, better lighting, and safer streets. Grateful we finally got this going.”
Harder has represented California’s 9th District since replacing Jeff Denham in 2019. He was born in Turlock in 1986 and currently resides in Tracy. Harder’s educational background includes degrees from Stanford University (2008) and Harvard University (2014).
