Rep. Josh Harder, who represents California’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of updates on social media addressing local recognition, healthcare policy, and campaign finance reform.
On July 30, Harder announced the opening of nominations for a community honor: “Nominations for San Joaquin County’s Ag Hall of Fame are now open! If you know someone who’s fed our county and kept the Valley running, now’s the time to speak up. Nominate here by Aug 18: https://t.co/b9yz65eDZO”.
Later that day, he marked an important milestone in American healthcare while expressing concern about proposed federal changes: “Medicaid was signed into law 60 years ago today, delivering affordable health care to the Valley. Now, DC is trying to rip care away from 50k of our neighbors. No way in hell we’re going to let them get away with it.”
On July 31, Harder addressed campaign finance reform efforts in Washington: “Big money shouldn’t call the shots in Washington. That’s why I’m introducing a ban on corporate PACs to drain the swamp and put Valley families back in charge of their government. https://t.co/QNOjAsHitY”
Harder has represented California’s 9th District since replacing Jeff Denham in 2019. He was born in Turlock, California in 1986 and currently resides in Tracy. Harder holds degrees from Stanford University and Harvard University.
