Rep. Josh Harder, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 9th district since 2019, has recently used his social media platform to comment on energy policy and regulatory reform.

On March 31, 2026, Harder posted about nuclear energy policy, stating: “Here’s something you won’t hear a lot of Democrats say: nuclear energy is something that the Trump Admin is getting right and California is getting wrong. We need more affordable energy, not less, and nuclear should be part of our future energy toolbelt.”

The following day, April 1, 2026, Harder commented on the permitting process in a post referencing the Build America Caucus: “BREAKING: The Build America Caucus has received all necessary permits to tweet this message. Review took 14 months. Happy #AprilFools (This is why we need permitting reform.)”

On April 2, 2026, he addressed rising utility costs with another post: “Very exciting new tool that underscores how expensive utilities have gotten. If Congress does its job, we should be able to look at this map a year from now and see a lot more green!”

Josh Harder was born in Turlock, California in 1986 and currently resides in Tracy. He holds degrees from Stanford University and Harvard University. Since entering Congress after replacing Jeff Denham in 2019, Harder has been active on issues related to infrastructure and affordability for Californians.
