Rep. Josh Harder, who has represented California’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently used his social media platform to voice concerns on a range of national issues, including healthcare policy, crime rates, and competition with China.
On November 13, 2025, Harder posted his opposition to a legislative deal brokered by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. In his post, he stated: “Tonight I am voting against Schumer’s terrible deal. Families are about to see health care premiums double. Democrats need to focus on what matters, grow a backbone, and fight!”
Addressing public safety the following day, Harder commented on rising crime rates and efforts to improve law enforcement response times: “Ugh. We have to get this crime under control. I’m fighting to get more Real Time Crime centers stood up so law enforcement can respond quicker and actually catch these criminals.” (November 14, 2025)
Later that same day, Harder expressed concern over U.S. competitiveness with China in manufacturing and infrastructure development: “We’re losing to China because we can’t build anymore, whether that’s new generation, transmission, or EV & battery manufacturing. That’s exactly what the Build America Caucus is working to change.” (November 14, 2025)
Josh Harder was born in Turlock, California in 1986 and currently resides in Tracy at age 36. He holds degrees from Stanford University and Harvard University. Since entering Congress after defeating Jeff Denham in 2019, Harder has prioritized issues affecting both his district and broader national policy.
