Representative Josh Harder, serving California’s 9th district since 2019, recently shared his views on social media concerning issues of community significance. Born in Turlock, California, and currently residing in Tracy, Harder has been vocal about various topics impacting his constituents.
On June 6, 2025, Harder expressed strong disapproval of an incident involving a Sikh community member leading Congress in prayer. He stated “Absolutely disgraceful. We’re incredibly proud of our Sikh communities and we’re honored to have one of their members lead Congress in prayer. No room whatsoever for this kind of hate, not in Washington and not in the Valley.”
Later that day, he commemorated the first anniversary of the Corral Fire in Tracy by announcing a new legislative effort. On June 6, 2025, he tweeted “Last week was the 1-year anniversary of the Corral Fire in Tracy. Alongside our local fire departments and emergency response teams, we announced a new bipartisan bill to help keep our families and firefighters safe.”
In another tweet on June 7, 2025, Harder addressed recent legislative developments affecting healthcare access. He cautioned against losing focus on critical issues by stating “Don’t get distracted – the House just passed a bill that would rip health care away from 42,000 people in our community. THIS is the fight that matters.”
Josh Harder’s academic background includes degrees from Stanford University and Harvard University.
