Rep. Josh Harder, who represents California’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently used his social media platform to comment on a range of issues affecting his constituents, including healthcare funding, food access, and utility rates.

On August 10, 2025, Harder expressed concern over new legislation impacting healthcare funding: “New law cuts $1 trillion from Medicaid while throwing pennies at rural clinics. Valley families could lose care and clinics might shut down. This is a disaster for our health care system.”

The following day, he highlighted efforts to improve community health and nutrition in Stockton: “We’re the fruit and nut basket of the world, and our community deserves access to healthy and affordable food. Excited to celebrate three years of the S.H.A.W. Bar in Stockton and grateful for all they do to keep our community healthy!” This post reflects ongoing initiatives aimed at promoting better dietary options within the region.

Later on August 11, Harder addressed rising energy costs with a call for legislative action: “Congress needs to pass my Stop the Rate Hikes Act to end our INSANE PG&E bills!”

Josh Harder has represented California’s 9th District since 2019 after succeeding Jeff Denham. He was born in Turlock in 1986 and currently resides in Tracy. Harder’s educational background includes degrees from Stanford University (2008) and Harvard University (2014).
