Rep. Josh Harder, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 9th District, recently took to social media to address several issues affecting his constituents and the broader community. Serving in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Jeff Denham, Harder shared updates on local infrastructure projects, community celebrations, and legislative initiatives.
On July 8, 2025, Harder expressed frustration over halted funding for flood protection projects in the Valley. He stated, “I hate this. Our Valley flood protection projects are at a standstill because the Army Corps of Engineers halted funding. I’m fighting to get this money reinstated asap.” This reflects his ongoing commitment to ensuring adequate infrastructure development and safety measures for his district.
The following day, July 9, 2025, Harder celebrated a significant milestone for Corporal Frank Wright from Lodi. He acknowledged the efforts of those who participated in marking Wright’s centennial birthday by sending cards. In his tweet, he noted, “Lodi’s Corporal Frank Wright has officially gone national! Thanks to everyone who sent him birthday cards for his 100th birthday. A huge success!”
Later that same day, Harder addressed the issue of fentanyl distribution within the community. He announced his support for stringent legislative measures aimed at addressing this problem: “Fentanyl is devastating our community. I’m pushing tough new bills to crack down on the dealers pushing this poison.” This statement underscores his proactive stance on public health and safety concerns related to drug abuse.
Harder’s educational background includes a BA from Stanford University in 2008 and further studies at Harvard University in 2014. At age 36, he continues to reside in Tracy and remains an active advocate for the needs of his district.
