Rep. Josh Harder, who represents California’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on December 5, 2025, highlighting federal funding for public transit, housing development initiatives, and concerns over tariffs impacting consumer spending.

In his first post at 01:25 UTC, Harder announced new transportation funding for his district: “$7+ MILLION coming to Tracy for new hybrid electric buses! This means better, faster service and cleaner air for our community. Grateful to see funding we fought for coming back to the Valley!”

Later that day at 19:47 UTC, he addressed housing policy reforms: “Love to see this, we need to support building more housing – by both removing zoning barriers and lowering construction costs.”

In a subsequent post at 20:58 UTC, Harder commented on consumer spending trends during Black Friday: “Americans spent over $11 BILLION on Black Friday – a 9%% increase from last year. But thanks to these stupid tariffs, people bought FEWER items. Spending more but getting less, not great.”

Josh Harder has represented California’s 9th District since 2019 after replacing Jeff Denham. He was born in Turlock in 1986 and currently resides in Tracy—one of the communities benefitting from the new transit funding. Harder holds degrees from Stanford University and Harvard University.
