Rep. Josh Harder, who represents California’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on social media highlighting concerns over recent policy changes and their impact on his constituents.
On July 22, 2025, Harder addressed the consequences of major healthcare cuts, stating, “Here’s what the largest health care cut in American history means for our community: – 50k people kicked off their insurance -3k local health care workers layed off -75% increase in insurance premiums All so billionaires like Elon Musk can get a tax break. Heartless.”
Later that day, he commented on proposed reductions to National Park Service funding, sharing personal motivations behind his opposition: “My parents took me to Yosemite a lot growing up. I want to do the same for my daughters. That’s why I’m fighting so hard against these National Park Service cuts. Our kids, and our planet, deserve healthy, safe parks!”
On July 23, Harder highlighted rising housing costs with another post: “It doesn’t have to be this way! Our families can’t afford these insane housing costs!”
Josh Harder has represented California’s 9th District since 2019 after succeeding Jeff Denham. Born in Turlock in 1986 and currently residing in Tracy, Harder holds degrees from Stanford University and Harvard University.
