Rep. Josh Harder, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 9th district since 2019, recently addressed several local and national issues through a series of posts on his social media account.
On October 13, 2025, Harder warned about rising health care costs for families in Stockton, stating, “The clock is ticking on health care premiums that are about to skyrocket. The average Stockton family of four could see annual premiums jump by $3,400. Washington needs to act before it’s too late.”
A day later, on October 14, 2025, he highlighted federal support for a local business: “BREAKING: A local Stockton food distributor was just awarded a HUGE grant to deliver produce to servicemembers abroad. Coastal Pacific Food Distribution will help keep our troops fed and healthy as they protect our country. Love to see Valley businesses leading the way!”
On October 15, 2025, Harder expressed frustration over federal decisions affecting his district: “I’m livid. Washington just cut funding for Lodi’s landmark energy project that was a WIN-WIN-WIN. The project would have created 100s of good paying jobs, lowered utility bills and cleaned up air pollution. I absolutely hate when politics get in the way of what our community”
Harder, who was born in Turlock, California in 1986 and currently resides in Tracy, has been vocal about issues affecting the Central Valley. He graduated from Stanford University with a BA in 2008 and from Harvard University in 2014. Since taking office after replacing Jeff Denham in 2019, Harder has focused on issues such as health care affordability, economic development, and environmental projects in his district.
