The Dominican Penguins, featuring former Lodi High School standout Hannah Escalante, were narrowly defeated 4-3 by the Hawaii–Hilo Vulcans in NCAA Division II softball on Thursday, March 5, at 2:30 p.m.

Held at Vulcan Softball Field, the matchup marked the teams’ fourth meeting this season. Earlier that same day, the Penguins also dropped their game to the Vulcans, 3-2.

Hannah Escalante pitched 6.1 innings, giving up two earned runs and issuing one walk.

The Penguins are scheduled to host the Azusa Pacific Cougars for their next game on Friday, April 10, at 12 p.m. at Penguin Field.
