City of Lathrop recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Lathrop anticipates receiving federal funds in Fiscal Year 2021-2022 for the general purpose of assisting low and moderate-income persons by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and for expanding economic opportunity. The City also estimates that its Fiscal Year 2021-2022 entitlement of Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program funds to be approximately $91,201. Activities eligible for CDGB funding include:
- Property acquisition for clearance, rehabilitation or preservation
- Construction of public improvements and facilities
- Removal of architectural barriers to assist the elderly or handicapped
- Housing rehabilitation
- Planning and Administrative costs
- Public Services
- Economic Development
- Neighborhood revitalization
- Housing & neighborhood preservation including new housing opportunities
- Economic development through job retention and creating activities
- Public infrastructure and facilities limited to the support of objectives #1 and #2
- Elimination of blight and blighting elements limited to the support of objectives #1 and #2
- Special programs offering significant community benefits, or addressing a community urgent needs, in direct support of objectives #1 and #2
